Before commencing research, researchers (including undergraduate and postgraduate students) who wish to undertake projects involving human participants must obtain approval from the Human Research Ethics Committee. No research can take place without ethics clearance.

Sunday 24 November 2024 is the cut-off for expedited (low risk) review submissions to arrive to the Ethics Office, following HoS review and endorsement, for an outcome to be shared on or before our Ethics Office Closure Date of Monday 9 December 2024. Ethics Office and Expedited Review process will reopen Monday 6 January 2025. If you are planning a submission in November, please speak to your HoS regarding their review and approval timeframes to ensure your application reaches the Ethics Office by 24 November 2024.
